Psychedelic Shrooms Could Soon Be Legal In the Sunshine State

I love that we are living in the future where everything is legal. Sports betting- legal. Weed- legal everywhere. And now Denver is like fuck it, wanna get nuts? Let get nuts!

NY Post - Denver could become the first US city to decriminalize psychedelic mushrooms after a petition gained enough signatures to take the issue to voters.

On Monday, the advocacy group Decriminalize Denver delivered the 9,500-signature petition to election officials, who have 25 days to verify the legitimacy of the signatures – only 4,726 signatures need to be valid – before allowing voters to decide to decriminalize “magic mushrooms” on a May ballot.

Unlike decriminalized marijuana – which is legal and available to purchase in Colorado – the use and sale of psychedelic mushrooms would remain prohibited if the measure passes; however, possession of the drug in Denver will “become lowest law-enforcement priority and [bar] the use of city resources to impose penalties,” the Denver Post reported.

I love that they are leaving decriminalizing shrooms up to the voters of Denver. Like hmmm, I wonder how those hippies are going to vote? Everyone has that one friend friend high school or college who lives in Denver. They started by listening to Dave Matthews Band, and then they got into heavier jam-band music like STS9 or moe., and then they started going to festivals every weekend and making their own jewelry and getting random dreads, and then they moved to Denver because they wanted to be a part of the scene, man. And that was just to smoke weed and listen to music…now they are getting mushrooms??? Denver is about to get turned upside down and inside out.

But of course, Oregon wasn’t about to let Denver steal their shine:

While Denver could be the first city to decriminalize magic mushrooms, the state of Oregon could soon follow thanks to a statewide ballot measure in 2020 that would allow the use of mushrooms for people with medical needs.

I love this ongoing battle between Colorado and Oregon to be the hippie capital of the world. It’s like a heavyweight fight, one state punches and the other state punches back harder. Oh, one city is going to make shrooms legal? Hold my beer, bitch, our ENTIRE STATE is about to do it. A good ol’ fashioned hippe-off.
