I Am Absolutely Terrified Of Adam Gase After Watching His Introductory Press Conference

What the fuck was that? I know Jets fans didn’t exactly love the Gase hire before today, but they must be downright petrified after watching him arrive at that press conference and act like he spent too much time hanging out with Caleb, Rone, and Buddha Ben. Jets fans have been waiting to blow the whole thing up and they don’t even make it through the introductory press conference without their new head coach becoming a meme. They went from having the moon emoji as head coach:

To the eyes emoji as head coach:

I thought it was weird that Adam Gase had the appearance of someone that had just walked in on two homeless people having sex on every picture the New York newspapers used.

But when you are coaching the Miami Dolphins with Ryan Tannehill and Brock Osweiler under center, you probably have that expression on your face more often than not. However, today’s press conference was so awkward, it made my skin crawl. The crazy eyes, the weird mannerisms, the lack of a hat that should never leave his head. Gase may have always had the quirkiness and eyes of the snozzberries kid from Super Troopers.

But nobody noticed because nobody outside of Frankie Fins Fan has given a fuck about the Dolphins since Dan Marino was slinging isotoners in Vice City. However now he’s in New York now and every move he makes on the field, off the field, behind a podium, and in front of a camera will be picked apart. If he turns Sam Darnold into a franchise QB, all will be fine. But if he doesn’t, that’s God Damn Jets territory.

And before people tell me that an introductory press conference doesn’t mean anything, let me just remind you of how the last two went for my Giants.

Ben McAdoo playing the role of Michael Klump.

And the fucking lights going out the minute Pat Shurmur opened his mouth.

Combined record of those two coaches over the last two seasons: 8-24. Press Conference don’t lie.

On the bright side for Jets fans…
