5 Years Ago Today, Blake Griffin Made Kris Humphries His Bitch

Ahhh, the 2013-14 Boston Celtics. You remember this team right? It was the start of everything. Brad Stevens’ first year, the Nets trade had just happened and things were pretty painful on the way to a 25-57 record. Teams like this one, with this roster

is why Celtics fans appreciate the 2018-19 team so much. We’ve been on quite the ride over these last 5 years, and honestly this team right here basically resembled the team of my youth minus Paul Pierce and Antione Walker. It’s fun to sometimes think back to these days, where we were so hopeful over promising rookies like Olynyk, thought maybe Vitor Faverani was the center they always needed, and convinced ourselves that THIS was the year Jared Sullinger got in shape. Fun times.

So when I saw this tweet come across my timeline, I got a little emotional. If not for the pain and losses of this team, we are not in the same position we are in today. But what it also did was remind me how much of a freak Blake Griffin used to be. He’s adapted his game as to more of a point forward these days, is a legit pull up three point shooter and doesn’t really put people on posters like this anymore. He’s playing at a near MVP production level so I doubt Pistons fans care all that much. Now technically he threw this ball in, which he seemed to do a lot in his Clippers days, but there’s no denying he had his nuts all up in Kris Humphries face. He tried to make the right play and rotate over to prevent the dunk, so his rotation was the right idea, however I have to believe he forgot who he was rotating to because the second Blake came off that pick, you knew what was coming. Credit to Humphries for having the balls to stand there and take it, but sadly this play pretty much summed up their entire season. Teams were dragging their nuts on them night in and night out.

But that’s not the point of this blog. The point of this blog is this video made me think of all the awesome Blake posters throughout the years and it led me down a pretty fun YouTube rabbit hole. I made a promise to myself that whenever I found that happening, that I would also share it with you the stoolies, who just need something to distract you from your 9-5 bullshit. So without further ado, here ya go. Enjoy
