Josh Allen Leaves Press Conference Saying Josh Allen Should Be The No. 1 Pick In The NFL Draft; Josh Allen Isn't Wrong

I know some people may not have paid attention to Kentucky football this year. It’s normal, I get it. But, if you don’t know Josh Allen then you made a huge mistake. Especially if you’re a fan of one of the teams picking early in the NFL Draft.

That’s because Josh Allen should be the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft. No, not just because Josh Allen said so. No, not just because I’m a Kentucky fan and want to see it happen. But, because he’s the best defensive player in the country this year. His ability to not only rush off the edge but he can drop back in coverage and has the versatility thanks to what he did at Kentucky.

I know some people won’t even like this move. Some will call it cocky or arrogant? Me? I love it. I say it all the time. We get bored when athletes and coaches give the same canned answer. He could have said ‘I’ll be happy wherever I end up in the draft, I’m just going to work hard to prepare and let the teams decide.’ That sucks. Give me this. Give me him dropping the mic saying he should be the No. 1 pick in the draft. Give me all of his teammates and coaches backing him up. That’s a quote. That’s the type of answer we should want instead of the same cliche shit.

Allen is a pretty awesome story in himself. He’s a former 2-star prospect who was originally going to go to Monmouth. He blew up a little bit more as a senior at Montclair in New Jersey and Kentucky was one of the few schools that offered him. He turned himself into a draft prospect fairly quickly as he was expected to be a 2nd/3rd round pick last year. He decided to come back for one more year and finished his senior year with 17 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 88 tackles and 21.5 tackles for loss.

Drop that mic, Josh.
