Tom Coughlin Rips Leonard Fournette And TJ Yeldon As The Circus In Jacksonville Continues Into The Offseason
The Jaguars are officially the dumbest franchise in the NFL. The season was a waste. There were injuries all over the joint. The offensive line had 4th string players starting in the final 8 weeks or so of the season. 2018 was a joke of a season and trust me, I’ve seen some really shitty seasons, but this one might be the worst. After such high hopes, a 20 minute period today really laid out what is wrong with this team.
In twenty minutes, the Jaguars released a statement saying that the head coach and general manager would be returning.
Dave Caldwell must have his own version of the mysterious pee tapes. That’s the only explanation for his return in Jacksonville. In the top 5 of the NFL Draft, Dave Caldwell has drafted Luke Joeckel, Blake Bortles, Dante Fowler, Leonard Fournette, and Jalen Ramsey. It’s possible that in 6 years of being the GM, he will only have 1 top-5 pick out of 5 still on the team. Caldwell being the GM who most likely picks Bortles’ replacement is insane to me. Insane.
The ire of Tom Coughlin wasnt unleased on the coaching staff or team as a whole for being bad. It wasnt firing Dave Caldwell for his roster building and poor decision to extend Blake Bortles for multiple years. THe ire of Tom Coughlin was because Leonard Fournette and TJ Yeldon were sitting down on the bench for the entire game that they were benched or injured for.
At this point, I think the front office hates Fournette but not the guy who picked him to be a generation talent and certainly not the guy in Coughlin who helped build the roster around him.
The Jaguars’ former top-5 pick Leonard Fournette hasnt been a difference maker. Sure he’s running behind a line that isn’t great but he wasn’t last year; he’s still running at a 3.7 yards per carry on his CAREER. He missed 8 games this year due to either suspension or injury and is getting reported as a locker room cancer. He’s overweight and injury prone. Not great!
Fournette is a long way from being the Jaguars biggest problem in the running game. The offensive line all got injured and the coaching staff doesnt want to use TJ Yeldon, a 2nd round pick by Caldwell, that much. Yeldon like former Jaguars 2nd-round picks Jonathan Cyprien and ALLEN ROBINSON wont be back with the team after his first contract is over.
I agree completely because the biggest problem is Caldwell and Coughlin, mostly Caldwell though. The team looks like shit on every level. I dont understand how you can bring back the GM who built this shit show but the Jaguars will without even taking a day or week to think about it. They announced the decision early and today’s game and the subsequent beatdown in Houston had nothing to do with it.
Anyway, it’s mock draft SZN for me and I’ll be looking at all the quarterbacks this year. At least that’s fun… not as fun as a deep playoff run but it’s all I have now. Our beloved Jaguars are dead again.
