Gas Money Bob's Week 17 NFC North Champion Bears Preview

It’s funny that I was getting shit from a Packer fan with my BobUp BearDown tweet this morning because I am confident in this team.

You see Parker, the one thing Bears fans never do is live in the past. We have always lived in a what have you done for me lately world. Come to grips with the fact that the Bears will control the North for the foreseeable future. So enjoy watching the Bucks and we’ll check in with you in August. Anyway back to Bears vs. Vikings.

All-Time Head to Head:

The Vikings hold a 60-53 edge on the Bears going into this afternoon’s game, but the Bears should trim it down another game.  Even if for some reason the Vikings pull this one out I’m not worried about seeing them again next week in what should be Bear Weather at Soldiers Field.

Bear Weather Report:

31 Degrees (feels 23)

Precipitation 0%

Humidity 71%

Wind S 9mph

Of course the people of Minneapolis/St. Paul are soft so they play their games inside a dome where the temperature will be a sweltering 70 degrees. What’s the point? You are blessed to play in a city that has great winter weather and you play indoors, stupid.

You Bet Your Ass:

Bears +6

Over/Under 40.5

Looks like Vegas thinks the Bears are going to rest their starters, but what Vegas doesn’t realize is that the Bears have such great depth it doesn’t really matter who rests.

Do yourself a favor (and then Venmo me a portion of your winnings @GasMoneyBob) and take the Bears getting 6 f-ing points and the over. The Bears are going to make your bank account go BOOM today.

Fantasy Start ‘em Sit ‘em:

A wise man once said:

Congrats to all of you that won your leagues. I’m sure everyone is wondering if I did and the answer is yes, I won 2 leagues for the 2nd season in a row. Next year I can draft your team for you for the low price of $49.99.

The Vikings:

Offense: Ever since they fired DeFilippo they have been playing much better. It looks like Delvin Cooks could be a real player if he can stay healthy (he can’t). Theilen and Diggs are decent WRs and Rudolph had a resurgence last week, but without a big game QB they just don’t scare you. Better than average but nothing to write home about. Kurt Cousins is just lame.

Defense: The Viking D has been a lot better lately as well. They’ve only given up 2 defensive TDs in the past 3 games. Not hard to do against teams like Miami (when its not too hot), Detroit, and Seattle. Let’s see how this rejuvenated D does against a high powered offense like the Bears.

Da Bears:

Offense: I love how Nagy is obviously not putting anything great on tape heading into the playoffs. We’ll probably look pretty vanilla today but watch out next week (or the week after) when he opens it up and whatever shit team we play doesn’t know what hits them. Oh yeah, and Kyle Long is back. This is going to be fun.

Defense: I would assume Mack, Hicks, Danny, Roquan, and the corners will be limited today. That doesn’t matter though. We are deep at all positions so we should still control this game with our D. Then all we have to look forward to is 10/11 starters fully healthy heading into the playoffs and ready to lead us to the promise land. No one in the league wants to play against this defense in the playoffs. Just look at Hicks here:

The Fans:

Only doing the Bears fans today. The official Chicago Bears Twitter account posted this for us today. They get it. They realize how important we are. They’re not going to win this thing without us so keep up the great work Bears fans!

Game Prediction:

Bears 27

Vikings 17

Coming Up Next Week: Up in the air. Hosting the Vikings or the Eagles or possibly a first round bye.
