End Your Workday With Dirk Reaching 30,000 Points

Los Angeles Lakers v Dallas Mavericks

Alright everybody you know what time it is. It’s time to avoid working for the homestretch of the day and get ourselves one step closer to the weekend. With a big time football game tonight and another decent NBA slate there’s a lot to look forward to once you’re set free, so as always this blog is here to help you get there. For today’s topic, I wanted to include something based off what I saw on my TL yesterday. It was this tweet

It’s a great question. In a league where there are a lot of hatable players, who would you choose at the opposite end of the spectrum? Amir Johnson is a great choice, impossible to hate him for sure even if he makes you a little mad how slow footed he can be and his inability to jump. After giving it some thought, for me there is really one person that will forever be universally loved and that’s Dirk. I imagine even if you’re a rival of the Mavs you still have love for Dirk because how could you not. The dude does not have a hatable bone in his body. His on court success has made him one of the all time greats, his off the court reputation as a guy who is not is afraid to party makes him relatable as hell, and you never heard anything in terms of being unhappy, or controversy or anything like that. I’m sure he had opportunities to leave and yet he remained loyal to the only franchise he’s ever known. You had to respect that.

So for today’s video, I wanted to find one of the best moments in Dirk’s career which was the night he passed 30,000 points. That brought him into elite company as only 7 other players in the history of the league have reached that level. Thankfully the internet always delivers and I was able to find you all a nice little 11 minute video of this night on March 7th, 2017 which is absolutely worth the way. You know the drill, sit back, hit play, get lost in an awesome moment in NBA history and next thing you know it’ll be quitting time.

Love Dirk. Congrats on basically making it through the week everybody, we have just one more to go. See you all tomorrow afternoon.
