Lets go live to Brodie Van Winklevoss inside the Red Roof Inn room the Wilpons got him in Las Vegas!
Look at lil Kenny Rosenthal putting on his bowtie and giving every New York baseball fan a jolt to the system after watching that dogshit Monday Night Football game. Now obviously these are just a few logs in the roaring fire that is the MLB hot stove during the winter meetings. But I don’t think Rosenthal is just throwing this stuff out and seeing what sticks. There has to be something real behind these rumors and it kinda terrifies me. What the fuck is your deal Brodie Man? Are you trying to take the Baseball Maverick nickname from Sandy Alderson after you took his job? What kind of a maniac did the Wilpons unleash upon us? We squeezed them, we hammered them to the point of desperation. And in their desperation, they turned to a man they didn’t fully understand and it’s scaring the fuck out of me right now.
To be honest, I don’t get the fascination that so many Mets fans have with J.T. Realmuto. He is a good player at a position the Mets need. But we aren’t talking 1998 Mike Piazza here. Trading one of your two stud pitchers in a season you say you are going for it makes no sense. And trading him to the team across town that consistently makes your franchise look even more like a clown show than it usually is straight up reckless and that’s before you add that Derek Jeter and the Marlins are involved in the deal. Jeets is probably just fine being a sleeper cell third team to help the Yankees get whatever player they want in a deal as he tries to get the Marlins relegated to Triple A or whatever his master plan is. I would be more than fine landing the best defensive catcher you can get that isn’t a complete zero at the dish and use money/whatever assets we still have to improve the rest of the roster instead of trading Noah Syndergaard at the age of 26 to the Evil Empire. Again, I’m sure there is a lot more to this and it could all just be some bullshit. But I know I will not be sleeping soundly tonight because the Mets new GM seems to be a goddamn wild boy. And I shudder to think of how Frank The Tank will react to these rumors when he wakes up from his sleep shift. I hope Neighbor Ralph is there to hug him and rub his head in case things go sour because going from a Victory Worm to your team trading a stud to the Yankees will be an all-time fall from grace for the Tank. Thanks for nothing Ken Rosenthal.
That being said, it’s going to be an electric day on New York sports talk radio tomorrow. Is Brodie doing all this just to give the guys in the media a ratings bump in exchange for them not skewering the Mets for being the Mets anymore? Honestly anything is on the table because I don’t know what to make out of that silly son of a bitch right now.
P.S. This tweet goes out to any Giants fans that did stay awake for that Monday Night Football game.
