Great News To Kick Off The Week - The Boy With Health Complications Who Conor McGregor Donated To Before UFC 229 Had A Successful Surgery!

You may recall that nine days before UFC 229, I blogged the story of Bru McCullough, an Irish boy in need of some pretty serious medical help, and an anonymous €10,000 donation he received on his GoFundMe page…

Bru’s mother, Grainne, of course shared with the world who made the donation when it came in…

…and obviously, then, it became a bit of a story in our world.

Just over two months later, Bru’s mother reached out to me (to get the attention of the Champ Champ – smart) last night, and shared the wonderful news that Bru has had a successful operation thanks to McGregor, who she says, changed their lives. Pretty fucking awesome, if you ask me, and it’s not the only example of “The Notorious” showing off his charitable side, believe it or not. Like I said in my last blog, he donated €50,000 to provide help to Ireland’s homeless problem two years ago just before the Mayweather fight, he was honored in New York City for helping raise over €800,000 for Irish Children’s Hospitals, and even in his newest business venture – the whiskey business (shoutout Proper No. Twelve, a Proper whiskey for all!) – a portion of the proceeds from every bottle sold will go directly to the first responders running into burning buildings, and situations most are running away from.

It’s all part of the reason I love the dude so much, truly. If you’d like to donate to Bru, as cerebral palsy is a lifelong disease, his GoFundMe is still up, and I’ve linked it below. A true warrior. Keep fighting Bru!
