The Redskins And Alex Smith Released A Statement Asking Everyone To Respect His Privacy

As I blogged earlier, apparently the Alex Smith injury took a turn for the worse while in the hospital. There are rumors everywhere about infections, multiple surgeries, and just really sad stuff. This prompted Alex Smith and the Redskins to release a joint statement, asking everyone to stop spreading such rumors. I knew they would start surfacing at some point, because people talk and the internet exists. And the are just brutal. It sucks.

Gruden echoed the statement at his press conference today, saying

Just have to hope for a safe recovery. I’ve been reading a little too much about what could possibly go wrong in these types of injuries and I don’t like what I’ve read. We’re all pulling and rooting for Alex.
