Elias Pettersson Is An Extremely Grotesque Individual

Elias Pettersson has been lighting the NHL up so far in his rookie season. Mostly he’s been doing it by just feeding the back of the net and murdering goalies with his missile launcher of a shot. Heading into last night, he had 13 goals and 8 assists in 21 games but only 5 of those assists were primaries. Moral of the story there is the kid is a certified sniper. But last night he decided to show off his dishing abilities as well with this Apple of the Year candidate to Brock Boeser.

Intercepts the (ill-advised) pass coming out of the zone. Gets tripped up. From his knees. Twists his body and kicks that puck out to Boeser behind him and it ends up in the back of the net. Boeser says it best at the end of that clip there. “Great find. Hey what a find. Holy fuck”. I think one of the only assists from this year that can really compete with that one came a little earlier in the season from…. well from Elias Pettersson again to Brock Boeser.

What a sick little freak. He just turned 20 this month and he’s treating the NHL like it’s a video game. 22 points in 22 games. Vicious snipe after vicious snipe. And when he doesn’t feel like lighting the lamp himself, he just breaks out some ridiculously nasty assists to Boeser for fun. The only scary thing is that he’s not even the best 20-year-old in the league right now. More on that a little later this morning.

P.S. – Brock Boeser with a goal vs Vegas. Nick Schmaltz with a goal and an assist for Arizona vs Nashville. And then Drake Caggiula with an assist for Edmonton vs LA. Pretty decent night last night for the old CBS line out of NoDak.
