No Pressure Patrick Corbin, But If You Don't Choose The Yankees You Will Be Letting Down Your Entire Family!

The Yankees hosted free agent starting pitcher Patrick Corbin earlier yesterday. They gave him a tour of the facilities led by CC Sabathia who was there rehabbing his knee. He met with various members of the organization and finished with a wine and dine in NYC with Hal, Cash, and other decision makers. Corbin is the biggest arm in the free agent market this winter and a lot of signs point to him signing in the Bronx shortly. Corbin grew up in Syracuse, NY and always wanted to be a Yankee. His entire family are Yankees fans, and he has hinted that he’ll end up there for next season. Corbin just got married last week and during the best man speech his younger brother threw on a Yankees hat and said he hopes he’ll be playing closer to home which got a cheer from the audience. I actually knew about this last week after getting tipped off, but forgot to tweet it out. Idiot!

But no pressure bud, the team you’ve wanted to play for your entire life wants you and your entire family wants you to play there also. No sweat! Poor guy, just let him choose where he wants to play. I’m honestly scared there’s too much pressure on him to succeed in pinstripes and it’ll get to him. I hope I’m dead wrong.

The best thing that came out of yesterday was this picture of Harkey, Boone, Rothschild and analytics guru Zac Fieroh. Of course they got Taco Bell before meeting Corbin, morons. I mean Larry Rothschild cannot be a real person. That’s our fucking pitching coach that we brought back? Jesus Christ. I’ve got to say that Zac is pretty much a Liam Hemsworth look-a-like from this picture. What a mysterious fella with a million numbers racing around his head at all times. He was among those that did not get a playoff share from David Robertson earlier this week which sparked some controversy since he travels with the team everywhere they go. Yeah I’m sure he’ll spin the numbers one way so that D-Rob isn’t back next year.

Anyways things seem to be moving towards Corbin ending up in New York. It’s that or Philly and I just don’t see the latter happening. The starting rotation next year will be Severino-Paxton-Tanaka-Corbin-CC and that’s perfectly fine with me. Now go get Manny after this is done and that’ll be a fucking awesome offseason if you ask me.
