What does it mean? What does it all mean?
Right off the bat, I feel like most people are going to assume that this will have something to do with Markelle Fultz. But I think that’s too on the nose for a guy like Joel Embiid. That’s too obvious. There’s clearly something more to this Instagram story post. Is Joel Embiid celebrating the departure of Ron Hextall from the Philadelphia Flyers organization? Is Joel Embiid simply just leaving the practice facility and saying that he’s done for the day? If you look closely, there appear to be 24 different “peace signs”. But what if those aren’t actually peace signs? What if that’s the number 2? Is he making fun of the fact that Ben Simmons can only shoot 2-pointers and won’t even attempt a 3? But what would the significance of 24 of them be? Well clearly Joel Embiid is calling his shot and saying he’s going to put up 48 points against the Knicks tomorrow night.
Or maybe Joel Embiid is just trolling everybody because that’s what he loves to do best. Or maybe… just maybe… Joel Embiid is trolling us into thinking he’s trolling us but really he knows something that we don’t know but we’ll never take him seriously because we know he loves to troll. There are a lot of different levels to this and I won’t sleep until we get to the bottom of it. Well maybe I’ll take a nap or two. And I’ll definitely get some rest tonight. But after that? We’re getting to the bottom of this.
