Colt McCoy Assured The Team "You're in good hands with me."

Yesterday, it sucked. Watching Alex Smith go down like that sucked. Completely devastating injury, no doubt about it. But here’s the thing- Colt’s no slouch. It’s not like it’s some bum ass backup coming in off the bench. The Skins gave Colt an extension and made him one of the NFL’s highest paid backups for a reason. The guy can straight up play. And now he’ll have his chance, and he wanted his teammates to know this offense will not miss a beat, it will not lapse, and the Colt Train is not going to slow down.

Absolutely yes it is.

And the thing is, the Alex Smith led offense wasn’t exactly the greatest show on turf. It was sputtering, to say the least. Alex has the unique ability to keep teams in games by not making mistakes, but the offense was not running like a well oiled machine. When Colt came in yesterday, he looked good for being rusty. He was moving the chains, making plays, going through his reads, throwing downfield. He made a couple of mistakes, sure, but that’s to be expected. Once he gets some reps under him, I have no doubt he will do very well leading the Skins to victory. First stop on the Colt Train, Dallas. And we all remember what happened the last time he played in Dallas. Spoiler: He spanked them up and down the field on MNF. Here’s to ruining everyone in Dallas’ Thanksgiving. In Colt We Trust, amen.
