I Could Listen to This Nigerian Sports Radio Show All Day

I don’t care about soccer anywhere, and even less about Nigerian soccer. I can’t understand Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba or whichever West African language this is. And as a general rule I can’t stand it when two people talk at once. Yet if there’s one thing I AM a fan of, it’s passion. And these guys have it by the truckload.

I’m being 100 percent serious when I say this is better than anything you’ll ever hear on The Fan, ESPN or the two Boston all-sports stations. Like I’m actually embarrassed at how tame and milquetoast our shows are after watching one minute of these guys. You can’t fake this level of enthusiasm. I’ve spent countless hours in front of a hot mic and never cared about subject 1/1000th as much as these Kings of Media do. Deflategate maybe came the closest, and even then I wouldn’t have been able to keep up with this level of intensity and energy. Whatever the hell they’re going on about – whether the forwards need to kick the ball toward the nets harder or the midfielders need to be doing more midfieldery things – I do not know. Nor do I need to. All that matters is I want in on that conversation. Theirs is the universal language of Giving a Shit. Of over-the-top, full-bodied involvement. And you don’t need that translated. It speaks for itself, right to you heart.

Barstool Radio is great. I’m not about to blow up anybody’s spot. But if at all possible, we need to find a time slot for these two to do their thing on a daily basis. And don’t think for a second I’m not already searching the internet for a “DANFO LIFESTYLE” shirt. For the record, these are Danfos:
