DeAndre Jordan Is Learning If You Steal A Rebound From Luka Doncic The Mavs Will Hate You

[ESPN] - Don’t be deceived by DeAndre Jordan’s solid statistics. He has been a major disappointment for the Mavs. He has rubbed teammates the wrong way with what they perceive as selfish play, the most blatant example being when he stole an uncontested rebound from Luka Doncic by putting his forearm in the prized rookie’s back and tipping the ball away. Jordan’s disinterest in playing help defense has been a big problem as Mavs opponents light up the scoreboard.

Seems like that whole hostage thing from a few years back may have worked out for Dallas according to this, huh? I mean here’s the thing. Who cares about snagging the rebound? It’s funny. Now, here’s a thing though. Grads on Twitter, who is as plugged in as anyone out there put this tweet:

There’s some absolute truth here. Jordan is on a 1-year deal. There’s no guarantee he stays in Dallas. Luka is the face of the franchise, especially with Dirk on the way out. Cuban has long been associated with controlling the team and what information gets out. That’s not even just a Cuban thing – that’s mostly an owner thing. But, Cuban is especially demonstrative about it.

So what happens now? The Mavs are 4-8. Do they try and trade Jordan late in the year? I wouldn’t be surprised. See if you can get something small back for him from someone at the trade deadline. I mean Cuban is going to treat Luka with gloves. He wants to make sure he’s happy. If Luka doesn’t like Jordan, don’t be surprised to see this happen.

Don’t steal rebounds from Luka is apparently the rule.
