Movie Trailer Roundup - Lots Of Switching?

Movie States in line

1. Five feet Apart

I’m the number 1 Haley Lu Richardson fan, so it’s a little disappointing to see her do a Walmart ‘The Fault in our Stars’. Besides HLR, it stars Cole Sprouse (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody) and it’s directed by Justin Baldoni (My Last Days)

2. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs

Not much different here from the first trailers, but I’m pumped up for this Coen brothers film starring James Franco (Pineapple Express), Liam Neeson (Taken), Brendan Gleeson (In Bruges), Zoe Kazan (The Big Sick), Tom Waits (Seven Psychopaths) and Tim Blake Nelson (‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’).

3. Kursk

I think ‘Hunter Killer’ has filled my quota of submarine movies for the year. The cast is great group of foreign actors/actresses, including Colin Firth (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Michael Nyqvist (John Wick), Léa Seydoux(Spectre), Matthias Schoenaerts (Red Sparrow) and Max von Sydow (Game of Thrones). Thomas Vinterberg (The Hunt) is directing off a Robert Rodat (Saving Private Ryan) script.

4. The Princess Switch

This is a very original concept that has never been done before. Very happy to see unique scripts get some shine! Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) is the star of this Mike Rohl (My Sweet Audrina) directed movie.

5. The Christmas Switch

Wait, what?

6. The Secret Life of Pets 2

The original was relatively well received, and I was personally sort of a fan. The big news is the recasting of Louis C.K. for obvious reasons with Patton Oswalt, another comedian with a much more distinct voice. It also stars Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family), Kevin Hart (The 40 Year Old Virgin), Lake Bell (In a World), Dana Carvey (Master of Disguise), Hannibal Buress (The Eric Andre Show), Albert Brooks (Finding Nemo), and Nick Kroll (Big Mouth).

7. Mowgli

After a bunch of release delays, it looks like we will finally be getting this jungle book rendition starring an absolutely all-star voice cast in Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock), Christian Bale (American Psycho), Cate Blanchett (Elizabeth), Tom Hollander (Bohemian Rhapsody) and Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings). Serkis also directed this adaptation.

8. Ugly Dolls

No thank you. It stars Emma Roberts (Little Italy), Janelle Monáe (Moonlight), Nick Jonas (Jonas Brothers Band), Gabriel Iglesias (Fluffy), Wanda Sykes (Bad Moms), Kelly Clarkson (Singer), Blake Shelton (Singer) and Pitbull (Singer).
