Well, that didn’t take long. I get the comparison for Zion Williamson. Both him and LeBron are physical freaks. You just see them and it doesn’t make sense for them to be that athletic, agile, whatever you want to call it. They are freaks. Then you saw what Zion did last night against Kentucky. His ability to grab a rebound and push tempo. He even dropped some LeBron-esque bounce passes through traffic while pushing tempo. So, I get it.
But, how about the awareness from Kerr here? He knows he doesn’t want to get a fine for discussing Zion or LeBron. Leave that to Magic and the Lakers to get tampering fines. What I do find a bit hilarious or ironic during all of this is the lack of talk about RJ Barrett. Don’t get me wrong, Zion warrants all this talk. He’s the most known prospect since LeBron. But, RJ Barrett seems to be the No. 1 prospect by most and led Duke in scoring yesterday.
This won’t be the first or last time we see this comparison. All I know is get ready, especially if the Zion we saw last night is there every night this year. He’s a special, special player and going to be a ton of fun to watch the one year we have him in college ball. Just get ready for the tank session for NBA teams to get the three Duke players.
