Kyrie And The Celtics Should Have Stopped Jamal Murray Instead Of Crying After The Game

[ESPN] - “But the ball deserves to go in the crowd after a bulls— move like that. So I threw it in the crowd.”

[The Athletic] - So I told him, I said, ‘Listen, next time we’re not going to let that slide. So take this one. Otherwise your teammates right here (will need to step in). Don’t do that shit again.’ My exact words.” – Marcus Smart

Oh, boo hoo. The Celtics didn’t like that Jamal Murray launched a shot to try and get 50 and prove a point. I’m sorry, I thought the name of the game was to score points. Who knows? Maybe the scoring margin matters for a tie breaker. Ever think of that? Probably not. Kyrie is probably too busy trying to decide whether or not the Earth is flat if I had to guess.

So here’s my thing. Why don’t you take this aggression and actually, you know, try to stop Jamal Murray during the game? If you wanted to get in his head and not let him launch for 50, knock his ass down if you’re so tough Marcus Smart. Get in his grill and bother him enough so he can’t shimmy his way for a layup.

I will say this. Hurling something into the crowd out of frustration is an A+ move though. I will always laugh watching a guy just launch something as far as possible. It’s a great move. But, the Celtics may want to figure out this defense thing first.

Oh, this should also just prove what we’ve been trying to tell you all year. This Nuggets team is damn good. This young core of Nikola Jokic, Gary Harris and Jamal Murray is as good of a young core as you’ll see in the league. Throw in the vets and role players that perfectly fit around them and you have what may end up being the 2nd best team in the West this year.

So shoot another arrow Jamal Murray, you deserve it.
