Amy Schumer Is Ranting And Raving On Instagram About Stealing Jokes
I didn’t realize this was still a conversation people were having but I guess it eats away at Amy Schumer and keeps her up at night. Let me start by saying this- I’m not a huge Amy Schumer fan, but she gets a lot worse of a rap on the internet than I think she deserves. I don’t find her stand up particularly funny or her acting particularly good, but a ton of people do and I’m not one to knock success. You figure out what works (making jokes about fucking random dudes and talking about your vagina ad nauseam) and run with it. That’s sort of what works in comedy, do something different than what most do, and be over the top. She developed a great niche and now sells out theaters across the country and stars in movies. Good on her. Don’t hate the player, hate the game

Amy Schumer doesn’t do herself any favors in terms of the online hate, which would be fine, but it appears it has started to bother her. The thing that bothers her the most is the joke stealing thing. She has long been called a joke thief, to the point this person made a 26 minute video compiling all her stolen bits:

I can’t really decide what to think about it. The examples are right there, clear as day. But what I keep coming back to is WHY IN THE FUCK WOULD SHE PURPOSELY STEAL JOKES??? It makes 0.0% sense for her to blatantly steal jokes. And if she was a joke stealer, she would for sure be shunned by the comedy community. So in that sense, I believe her. Everyone is influenced by other comics, maybe she just takes it a little too far? Either way, it clearly is running laps in her head.
But she wasn’t done ranting there. Remember when she became a national hero and was awarded the medal of honor for heroically deciding against being in a Super Bowl commercial this year? She has to keep talking about it just to remind you how special she is.
“I don’t care that you don’t care but here are 10,000 words about how much I don’t care that you don’t care, by the way did I mention I’m not going to be in a Super Bowl commercial because of equality or something that has no correlation to what I’m actually protesting?” Also, people are talking about it BECAUSE YOU POSTED A LONG RANT ABOUT IT ON YOUR INSTAGRAM PAGE MAKING YOURSELF OUT TO BE SOME SORT OF HERO. Oy vey. I don’t get how she doesn’t get it.
