Wake Up With Klay Thompson Breaking NBA Records

Golden State Warriors v Chicago Bulls

One night you have Steph Curry making 11 of 16 from deep. The next thing you know he’s breaking the NBA record for more consecutive games with at least 5 3PM. For any team that would be a crazy accomplishment and mean you have yourself a real talent. Well because they’re the Warriors you know they couldn’t stop there. So last night why not have Klay go out there and break the NBA 3PM in a game record going 14-24 from deep while also essentially not dribbling. A different approach than Curry sure, but just as lethal. That’s the thing with this Golden State team, each of their stars are capable of going off like this at any moment, but they are all different.

For example, when we get Steph Curry cooking, it is so disrespectful that it makes opponents question not only their will to live, but why on earth they decided to even play the sport. Few people in the league give off that reaction, but when Steph is bombing it away from 30 feet and then giving you a Jordan shrug, it breaks your brain. When Durant does his thing and goes off, it makes more sense. That’s just a guy who is a pure scorer, he doesn’t do it with the same flash as Curry, but it’s lethal and it reminds you that oh yeah he’s the second best basketball player on the planet. I would say the feeling his gives off is one of hopelessness. That no matter what you try to do to guard him, you can’t. But with Klay, like you see in that video above, when he goes off like this, it’s like a machine. The form is perfect, the release is quick, and once he is in the zone it seriously looks like he doesn’t even feel himself shoot the ball. It’s just a methodical killing, where it doesn’t matter if you have a hand in his face or anything like that, if he goes up with it and gets it off clean, it’s going in and not only is it going in but it’s not even hitting the goddamn rim.

Another example of this would be when he went for 60, and basically didn’t dribble there either

It’s only natural to think that Durant is next, either that or Curry is going to come out and drop 17 3PM just to one up Klay. You think they do rock/paper/scissors or something to figure out which one of them is going to break an NBA record each night? At this point it wouldn’t surprise me. What I loved last night was not only the fact that we once again saw NBA history, but that his Dad when asked about his performance had the perfect Dad answer

We’re at the point where every single Warriors game no matter the opponent is now appointment television, because they seemed determined to break every NBA shooting record out there. Again
