This "Subway Wizard" Is The Worst Thing To Happen To The NYC Subway System Since Hurricane Sandy

*Watch the whole video

I try not to be negative on the blog, I really do, but sometimes a story comes around that’s so infuriating that it leaves me no choice. Enter the “Subway Wizard.” A thirty-two-year-old (I’m guessing) unemployed nuisance who roams the subways doling out unsolicited advice to commuters.  According to him he doesn’t charge, but I guarantee the second the cameras turn off, he turns his hat upside-down and starts asking for change. Which I’m fine with, if someone wants/needs to ask for change on the subway, they have a right to do that. What I’m not fine with is that this guy turns his begging into an elementary-level fantasy production and then acts like he’s providing therapy. When in reality all he’s doing is making people uncomfortable by being a fucking weirdo.

I guarantee that the ONLY reason people in the video were cordial to him was because there was a camera in their face. That, and because he’s pulling this shit around a bunch of college students near NYU who are too afraid to tell him to fuck off.

He tries this at any subway stop above 96th street and he’s getting stabbed.

As far as the Hurricane Sandy reference goes, yeah, it may be a bit much, but I’d rather drown in the 14th street tunnel than spend one stop talking to this guy. There’s something about an adult who refuses to grow up that rubs me the wrong way.

If the MTA wants to clean up the subway system this is the perfect place to start. Ban people like the Subway Wizard from bothering commuters and go from there. Can’t wait for my commute home.
