Everything Might Suck In Philly At The Moment, But At Least We Still Have Gritty
In case you couldn’t tell from my blog this morning, I am very much depressed about the Philadelphia Flyers Men’s Professional Ice Hockey Team at the moment. On top of that, it was announced today that Derek Barnett’s season is over as he’ll be undergoing shoulder surgery. So the Eagles are below .500. The Flyers are below .500. Ben Simmons isn’t playing tonight with back tightness. It’s just one of those days as a Philly sports fan where your Google search history looks something like
– “Where to buy a rope near me”
– “How to tie a noose”
But even though almost everything that could possibly go wrong is going wrong right now, at least there’s still Gritty. Now the only thing I’m starting to worry about is the longer it takes for the Flyers to turn this season around, the better the chances of the city turning on Gritty become. Like if this team goes on another 10-game losing streak, Gritty is going to become the scapegoat. For as much as this city loves Gritty at the moment, they will turn on him so fast. He’s a great distraction for right now while things are only going a little poorly. But if shit actually starts to hit the fan? Well then Gritty might want to lay low for a while. But in the meantime, Gritty is the only thing we really have to cheer for. Well, Gritty and Embiid. But when you really think about it, they’re almost the same person.
