Iowa Football Is Good.

Is a shutout good?

Is allowing just 115 yards of total offense good?

Is allowing a quarterback to throw for only 47 yards good?

Is having 40:55 time of possession good?

Is having 224 yards of rushing good?

Is converting on 4th down at a 75% clip good?

Is 22 first downs better than 7 first downs?

Yep, all of those things are good. Iowa football is good. The game wasn’t good or all that fun to watch (minus Brandon Smith’s one-handed touchdown catch where the defender was trying to rip off his other arm) but Iowa football is good. Iowa’s defense is REALLY fucking good. That Maryland/Iowa game felt like it lasted 20 minutes. It was super windy in Iowa City today so the Hawks just pounded the ball and pounded the ball and dominated Maryland in every facet of the game. Maryland couldn’t do anything on offense and part of the reason was because they never really had the ball.

Maryland barely played in the game at all. It was all Iowa all day. That game was basically a practice for the offense. Did any of the defensive players on Iowa even break a sweat? Iowa football is good.
