Folks, that is one helluva quote to drop right after losing Game 3 of the ALCS at home. Could you imagine Gary Sanchez dropping that bad boy after his whole debacle mid-season about running out that game-ending ground ball? The New York media would have actually murdered him and driven him out of the city. That’s not your personality? Not your cup of tea? You’re not going to be Johnny Hustle out there? Yikes. Not the best thing to say as you are about to enter free agency. Now as a Yankees fan does saying something like that make me not want to give him a truck load of money? I mean it’s tough when you see the kind of talent he possesses and how great of a fielder he is and all that, but Jesus Christ that’s not going to fly in New York, pal. You would think he would have a PR guy or his agent in his ear telling him this is the very last thing someone about to get upwards of $300 mill should be saying. I’ll tell you who the last person on the planet would be to say shit like this: Bryce Harper. Now the Yanks do not need either guy, they have plenty of young offense. What they do need is starting pitching, and lots of it. Maybe giving this guy $30 mill a year isn’t the best idea? That is until he hits one out tonight and further reminds me how incredible he is at baseball.
