Don't Tell St. John's That Mo Bamba Went To Texas

It’s Midnight Madness season. There’s no doubt about that. With that in mind we know that schools bring out all the stops, typically bringing out some sort of musical act to play to the crowd. So, sure, Sheck Wes is someone that a lot of college kids know, most importantly, it’s someone that recruits know.

One little problem here. People are going crazy to his song ‘Mo Bamba.’ Bamba was recruited by St. John’s, but went to Texas. He doesn’t have a brother or anything like that being recruited by St. John’s. So here is everyone at St. John’s losing their mind – as one does to this song – but why?

Sheck Wes needs to come out with a song for Chris Mullin or perhaps the backcourt duo of Shamorie Ponds and Mustapha Heron. That would get the crowd going, just don’t tell them that Mo Bamba went to Texas. St. John’s announced that Heron would be eligible this season. Heron averaged over 16 per game for Auburn last year before announcing he wanted to transfer to be closer to home and his ill mother. He grew up in Waterbury, Connecticut and decided to transfer to St. John’s over UConn during the summer.
