Ken Griffey Jr was the starting center fielder for the Chicago White Sox in a Game 163. That's just proof that strange stuff happens in Game 163s. Half of you don't even REMEMBER Griffey in Chicago, let alone know that Chicago was even good. What is even more strange is that Griffey was starting in a do or die game at the ripe age of 38. He had been traded from Cincinnati that season and helped the White Sox secure a playoff spot in this 1-0 win over Minnesota.
I guess Michael Cuddyer really wanted to test The Kid's arm, because that ball was not particularly deep at all. Cuddyer wasn't a speedster either, so he was really feeling himself. Again, the ball wasn't hit deep at all, Griffey lines it up, chucks it home, sends a nice one-hopper right to the catcher and boom, Cuddyer is out. He didn't even touch the plate, what an idiot.
The Kid saves the day again.
