Washington Post - “The guy lined up 25, 26 times on this side, and not one time was he targeted or caught a ball,” Norman said of Thomas on 102.5 The Fan. “ .?.?. Film speaks for itself. I watched it three times back-to-back and over and over again, on the plane and on the bus.”

“It was just like, do I even send this, like, do I even give this life?” Norman said. “And then I went to that Kanye West sunken place and I said, ‘You know what, we’re going to do it, just make ourself feel a little bit better about this whole situation.’”

Maybe the most relatable thing I’ve ever read. I actually appreciate when professional athletes show that they are real people with real emotions as well. There is nothing harder than swallowing your pride and not replying when it’s all you want to do, even if you’re in a no-win situation. Norman and the Skins just got lit up by the Saints. Drew Brees picked apart the secondary just about as well as a quarterback can. So even if Norman was technically correct that he didn’t give up a pass when lined up with Thomas, that doesn’t matter in this situation because Norman was benched at halftime and the Saints demolished the Skins. But even when all that is working against you, it feels so therapeutic to send out the tweet defending yourself. Josh Norman is not wrong about Thomas not being targeted when they were lined up 1 on 1, but in the moment that didn’t matter at all. So he replied out of that Kanye West sunken place and it turned into a thing. Been there, my friend! You get your tweet off like “wait, I’m actually right” and everyone is like “don’t careeeeeeeeee” and it’s like “oh god dammit, why did I give a non-issue life”? So I appreciate J-No owning up to it, admitting what happened, and now moving on. A refocussed and fired up Josh Norman is exactly what the doctor ordered.
