I Think Luka Doncic Is Going To Fit In Just Fine

It’s becoming harder and harder to not love Luka Doncic. If you’re a Mavs fan you already know this, and if you’re someone who is aware of his accomplishment over in Europe this isn’t exactly news 

but when you’re a teenager moving thousands of miles away from everything you’ve ever known, it can take time to adjust. Think of how awkward it was for you the first few weeks you went to college, now multiply that by a billion and that’s Luka’s world. What made me laugh about this short video, is he’s not scared to roast Dennis Smith Jr, who incase you haven’t been paying attention is a pretty important player in DAL. No signs of being a quiet rookie afraid to speak up or anything like that. He went right for the jugular and looked so innocent while doing it. He also isn’t afraid to adapt to NBA culture and the right of passage that you must go through: warm up dances

I suppose it doesn’t hurt that he’s also been pretty awesome on the actual court this preseason as well. In three games he’s averaging 14/5.3/3.3 with 50/46% splits and 2.0 3PM a night. The shooting efficiency is the most impressive part in my opinion. He also has a 93 Drtg so far too. Take a moment and laugh at the Hawks for being dummies and passing on this dude, because everything we are seeing on and off the court tells us Luka is going to be awesome.

I’m sure Trae Young will develop into a fine NBA player, but Luka appears to have “it”. Again, we all should have known this since he is the best European prospect maybe ever, but the more and more we see from him the more clear it’s becoming. The Mavs nailed this pick.
