House Of Card Has Dropped Its Trailer For The Final, Kevin Spacey-less Season

I think people have fallen off HoC a lot but it’s still one of my “I will binge the new season in about 12 hours” shows. To be fair most shows are like that to me because I’m a man child with no real responsibilities, but House of Cards is definitely one.

Obviously losing the star because he was, you know, a sexual assaulter and statutory rapist is not good and can throw any show into turmoil but judging by the responses to that tweet it seems like people are actually upset about it? Like folks still wanted Kevin Spacey in the show? That’s insane.

It’s not even insane just because he’s a bad person in real life, it’s insane because Claire Underwood is fucking awesome and I’ve wanted more from her for a few seasons now. It’s been very apparent that the show was trending this way even before all of Spacey’s off-screen problems but I’m pumped to see more from Claire and have her go scorched earth on everyone.

Btw was there ever a show more perfectly set up to deal with the #MeToo reckoning? A guy who’s a creep and not even as good as his female secondary star gets what’s coming to him and she rises to power then says lines like “The first female president of the United States will not keep her mouth shut.” Bam, knocked it out of the park.
