A-Rod FaceTimed Gary Sanchez On The Live Set of The FS1 Baseball Postgame Show Last Night

As I’ve talked about many times on this site, A-Rod is the busiest person on Planet Earth. There is no one who works harder than that man. He’s first and foremost J-Lo’s boyfriend/photographer, he’s a great dad, he’s an ESPN Sunday Night Baseball announcer, he’s a Fox Sports Postseason analyst, he’s the CEO of A-Rod Corp, but people always forget that he’s also an advisor to the New York Yankees. When he finds the time he’s on the field with them coaching Miguel Andujar at third base or helping other youngsters get out of slumps.

Last year in August, Gary Sanchez was going through one of those slumps. What did A-Rod do? He invited the Yankee catcher to lunch with J-Lo and put him in the right mindset.

On Friday, The Post reported Gary Sanchez dined with Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez at Casa Lever in an effort to gain a little baseball wisdom from A-Rod, who has been through everything as a player.

So far, so good.

Over the five games since that Power Lunch, Sanchez is blistering the baseball, hitting .471 with three home runs and six RBIs. -NY Post

Gary said that they didn’t even talk about hitting during that lunch. In fact they talked about everything but that, and it that kind of made him forget about his slump and caused him to focus on his fielding and other things life. It snapped him out of his streak and he began to tear the cover off the baseball again.

So when I saw A-Rod FaceTiming Gary on the live set of FS1’s postgame show that immediately went to mind. No wonder Gary has looked like a different guy lately. He’s got A-Rod calling him every night getting his head right. It appears to be working…

I’m way too amped for tonight. 7:40 cannot get here soon enough. The Bronx Zoo is going to be ROARING.
