Grading the Newest Sex Scandal Teacher
Alabama – A Chilton County High School math teacher was arrested Wednesday on a dozen sex-related charges involving three different students.
Ashley Nicole “Nikki” Maddox, 31, is charged with two Class C felonies and 10 Class A misdemeanors, said Chilton County Chief Deputy District Attorney CJ Robinson. …
The Clanton Police Department launched an investigation during which other students came forward and “disclosed Nikki Maddox had subjected them to inappropriate and illegal sexual contact,” Robinson said.
In all, Maddox is charged with crimes involving three students. The alleged offenses happened over the past few months, Robinson said.
Maddox, who is married and the mother of a son … was currently teaching Algebra I and Algebraic Essentials.
She is charged with two counts of a school employee having sexual contact with a student under 19, two counts of a school employee soliciting a sex act with a student under 19, four counts of a school employee distributing obscene material to a student and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Details of the alleged crimes have not been made public.
There is nothing more heartwarming and more bittersweet than meeting the Plucky Overachiever. That kid with more heart than natural ability who refuses to listen to the naysayers. Who won’t take “no” for an answer. Who turns a deaf ear to every voice who says they’re not good enough, will never make it and ought to just give up. The undersized, slow kid who wants to be an athlete. The tone deaf musician. The student who puts in the study time but has trouble learning. Forrest Gump, who wants to throw off the braces and be like all the other kids.
It’s touching, but also a little sad because you realize that, as indomitable as their spirit is, eventually they’ll probably meet their limit and fall short of their dreams. But that’s OK. It ain’t about how fast you get there. It ain’t what’s waiting on the other side. It’s the climb. And by that measure, Nikki Maddox has gone further, higher and faster than millions of aspiring Sex Scandal Teachers who were blessed with much more God-given talent. Rooting for the SSTs who were born with all the gifts is easy. My heart goes out to the underdogs like my girl here.
Well done, Nikki. Take a lap. On second thought, maybe you better not.

Looks: Usually I look for the most, highest quality photos I can find. This time, I think posting just that one, badly pixelated picture is kind of a public service.

Moral Compass/Bad Judgment: Three kids. Twelve charges. Four – count ‘em – FOUR naked photos, I presume? All in the span of a few months. That is the kind of reach-exceeding-your-grasp that should inspire other Sex Scandal Teachers to reach higher and achieve more.

Intangibles: Not much of a fastball and still achieves greatness? Her name might as well be “Maddux.”

Overall: C-. It pains me to give her such a low grade, but I’ve got to call ‘em like I see ‘em.
