S/O To Yankees Fans For Maintaining Their High Moral Authority Regarding Fan Behavior At Sports Events

Well that’s not very nice. Or civilized. I was sent this IG video our very own Barstool Breakfast host and former NFL stalwart Willie Colon posted last night, and I was taken aback. Giving a s/o to someone for throwing a beer in the face of an opposing fan? Say that’s how (Yankees fans) treat out of towners? Using #&^@ instead of actually typing “Shit”? My oh my. This wasn’t the Willie I experienced back when we had a rather heated exchange about fan behavior, specifically how Philly faithful acted during his first preseason game at the Linc.

Things must’ve really changed since the Philadelphia Eagles had zero Super Bowls. Even so, Willie or ANY fans shouldn’t be able to have it both ways. You can’t call one fanbase scumbags for throwing batteries at the opponents (it’s 100000% a scumshit move and any decent Philly fan/human knows that) and then not only condone, but encourage your own people for chucking a beer at point blank range at an innocent guy in the stands for wearing a different uniform. That’s not the way this life works. So I attempted to cleared the air with Willie this morning by asking him if the fan in the Instagram video he posted last evening was being a scumbag:

Alright, Willie. Life points for the redemption. I get it. We all play roles to an extent at Barstool. If he pimped up his thoughts and those actions acceptable in his caption in the name of views but deep down knows it’s an extremely scumbag move by the fan – OK then. Is it right? I’m not one to ask. But to condone such behavior for one sports team and decry similar actions from another fanbase, MY people, is just plain hypocrisy. And ever since CBS has gotten out of prison and in my ear, such dishonesty won’t stand. Not on our watches. Just ask Nate.

Also, can you imagine the uproar if Philadelphia fans posted that video encouraging what happened like Willie did last night? Sweet Jesus of Mahogany. It would be the end of civilization as we know it. Good thing something like that would never happen. Philly fans respect their hard earned money and alcohol. We wouldn’t waste our beer like that. Especially on Ninja.

PS – Please don’t eat me.
