Ever Wonder How Hard Rampage Jackson Could Hit A Motherfucker In The Face Nowadays?

There’s your answer. Very fucking hard.

This weekend at Bellator 206 – LIVE on DAZN’s streaming platform (which worked like a charm, might I add) – Quinton “Rampage” Jackson stood opposite Wanderlei Silva in a mixed martial arts cage for the fourth time in each of their careers. In their first two contests, which both took place in PRIDE (the first in 2003 and second in 2005), Wanderlei got the best of “Rampage”.

In most cases in mixed martial arts, that’s it for the rivalry. One fighter up two wins to none pretty much grants him/her the career victory. Not with these two, however, because at UFC 92 in December of ’08, the decision was made to run it back. “Rampage” knew he could defeat Wanderlei, and wanted the fight for a chance to prove that, and it didn’t take long for him to make true on his word, KOing Silva in the very first round.

Now, TEN YEARS LATER, a full decade after that last meeting at UFC 92, “Rampage” was given the opportunity to even the series against Wanderlei, and he delivered once again – this time with a second-round knockout.

I rolled my eyes, almost cringing when this fight was booked, due to it looking like the classic Bellator “Memba deez guys from da old timey UFC?!” fight, where both guys are probably to the point that no commission should even allow them within 50 yards of a cage, but business is business and I get that. After watching the fight itself through, fuck it, let’s have some fun, I’m in for a fifth. We now need to see who would win in a best of five. And after that, we’ll start weighing the pros and cons of a seven fight series. But we’ll see.
