What You Missed At The Ryder Cup This Morning

Hello friends. The Ryder Cup kicked off at 2am EST this morning, so there’s a good chance you missed it. I did not miss it. I’m here. Let’s take you through what happened this morning.

Coverage

By all accounts, STUNK.

Folks who got up at 2am in the States have been pissed at Golf Channel all morning. Perhaps consider yourselves lucky if you missed it.

First Tee

Was an absolute SCENE. The coolest thing in golf.

Koepka/Finau def. Rose/Rahm 1UP

We had no business winning this match. None. We trailed the entire day and they were doing stuff like this.

But then this happened on 16 and everything changed.

18 is playing straight into a stiff wind, with water everywhere, and Rose hit his approach right in the drink. After Rahm had to lay up and missed his par bid, it was over. Somehow we won.

USA 1-0.

DJ/Rickie def. Rory/Olesen 4&2

Total domination. Rory didn’t make a single birdie. He was in the rough all day.

USA 2-0.

JT/Spieth def. Casey/Hatton 1UP

Good news — today, Jordan Spieth became 2015 Jordan Spieth again.

That was the front nine, then JT heated up. It came down to 18 — credit to Paul Casey and Tyrell Hatton grinding HARD — but the Bakers Bay boys got it done.

USA 3-0.

Fleetwood/Molinari def. Tiger/Reed

Tiger looked awful, Reed was inconsistent, Molinari birdied the first hole, and Tommy Fleetwood is a freak.

We were actually 2UP through 10, but then their flat sticks got hot and we looked brutal.

USA 3-1.

This afternoon’s matches.

Phil in. Rory in. Tiger out.

Historically, we suck at foursomes (alternate shot). Need to keep it going with a big afternoon.
