BUSINESS INSIDEREminem’s recently released single “Killshot” — a diss track directed at the rapper Machine Gun Kelly — had the largest debut of any hip-hop song in the history of YouTube, the company said Tuesday.

The official audio of “Killshot” earned a record 38.1 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours of its release on Friday. It now has over 72 million views on the site.

YouTube said “Killshot” also had the third-highest debut of any song in the site’s history, and the track is on top of the site’s US trending chart.

On the topic of smashing records, Eminem just destroyed the single-day record for most views on a YouTube with his MGK diss.  I have nothing to add about the feud that KFC didn’t cover with 4,000 words yesterday  – there quite literally are no more words to add.  Personally Killshot seemed lame at first, but after listening a lot, it grew on me.  The intricacies that Kevin pointed out that you don’t necessarily catch on to until after a few plays make it so much better.  However after a weekend spent listening to all the diss tracks from his past, it doesn’t even remotely crack the list for best ones ever.  Which in my opinion is:

4) Quitter/Hit Em Up

3) The Sauce

2) Nail In The Coffin

1) The Warning

I like The Sauce and Nail in the Coffin better as songs, and they literally ended Benzino’s entire career while ripping his soul out.  But The Warning is by far the most savage as a pure revenge song, and the fact that it’s at Mariah Carey is hilarious.  Playing her voicemails while mocking them is just cold blooded.

Killshot isn’t even remotely on the level of those.  Worse than the Invasion series, Hail Mary, Hailie’s Revenge, Girls, Bully and Go To Sleep.  But, in this beef, yes, it was the kill shot.
