Source – Killing animals for sport is controversial, particularly under the harsh glare of social media. Now an image of a hunter with an enormous dead leopard is going viral after being shared by stars like Naomi Campbell and Kyle Richards to criticize big-game hunting.

In her post, supermodel Naomi Campbell identified the woman as a member of the Safari Club International. She asked her followers to contact the Tucson-based organization, writing, “call them and give them a piece of your mind.”

Model Carré Otis wrote in her Instagram post that the photo shows “unconsciousness hard at work.” And model Doutzen Kroes wrote in her caption that “the woman in the picture should be ashamed of herself.” The models shared the photo using the hashtag #stopbiggamehunting.

Model Marpessa, meanwhile, also encouraged her followers to contact the Safari Club International, writing, “CALL them, TROLL them and REPOST and give them a piece of your mind.” Actor and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards also shared the photo, writing, “I know this is upsetting to see but if we don’t speak up this will never stop.”

The woman in the photo is only the latest person to be called out for big-game hunting. Tess Thompson Talley was criticized in July for sharing a photo of herself with a giraffe she’d killed last year.

Models and Real Housewives commenting on big game hunting, what a world. Full disclosure, I’m of the belief that big game hunting is fucked up. If you like killing animals, you are a weird person. Period.  Obviously, there are exceptions to that rule. I know that for a lot of people hunting is a necessity, whether it be for food or conservation or whatever. That’s fine. I just think that hunting jaguars and elephants and shit is weird and unnecessary.

What’s even weirder is when celebrities, who are completely removed from the situation, decide to comment on it and make it their cause. Like what dog does Naomi Campbell have in this race? She’s involved in PETA, but she also *used to wear fur every time she stepped out of the house.

People don’t forget, Naomi. It’s all bullshit. Same goes for Kyle Richards. Give me one good reason why I should listen to her on anything ever. I respected her opinion on the whole Brandi Poker Night fight, but that’s it.

The point I’m trying to make is that when celebrities speak out on issues, they need to be educated. And it’s tough to believe that people like Doutzen Kroes and Naomi Campbell took the time to fully educate themselves on the issue before firing off an Instagram on the moral and ethical repercussions of hunting. They did it for the likes. They did it so they’d get in the news. It sucks for the girl who took the picture, but that’s the way it goes. Don’t post the picture in the first place if you’re not prepared to get destroyed.

I’m not trying to come off like “a shut up and dribble” type of guy. It’s important to use your platform for things you care about.  It just always fascinates me when people pretend to care about things that everyone knows they don’t give a shit about.

PS: RIP to the Jag.
