The results from the Sixth installment of my totally normal and not insane 51 week study of the top three movies from each state are IN. Remember everyone got three votes, so the percentages reflect how many times they appeared on every individual vote. For the Centennial State, this is what y’all chose.
3. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
The Satan/Saddam Hussein relationship is one of the funniest things in a movie ever. At the time, it was an absolutely hysterical comedy and it still holds up pretty damn, well, so I’m not surprised at all that that one of the most recognizable fake towns in history placed on this list.
2. The Shining
One of the most iconic and defining movies of the horror genre, as well as one of Kubrick’s best, this was a given to place. In fact, I’m pretty surprised it didn’t get first.
1. Dumb & Dumber
Most of you probably consider this to be more of a Rhode Island movie than a Colorado movie, which it totally understandable. The goal of the movie, though, was to get to Aspen, Colorado which is why it got association with the state. It’s one of the most quotable and memorable comedies of the last few decades, so I’m happy to see you guys give it some love.
Here is the breakdown:
I’m a little surprised ‘Red Dawn’ didn’t place, because that is an absolutely all-time action/war movie. Also no respect for Jeremiah Johnson giving us one of the best gifs ever:
