People Are Upset That A Store Is Selling 'Breaking Bad' Meth Candy
PROVO, Utah — A Utah customer expressed that they were “appalled” by a type of rock candy they saw at an FYE (For Your Entertainment) store in Provo, that they called “candy meth.” “Hello, I was at your store in Provo, UT yesterday and was completely appalled by one of the products you carry,” said Parker Twede of Salt Lake City. “Let me preface by saying that I am not by any means easily-offended. When I saw the end cap full of breaking bad candy meth, I couldn’t believe my eyes.” Twede posted photos of the display from FYE, which showed the company’s “Breaking Bad Blue Sky rock candy.” The candy, described on the company’s website as “a street-legal package of Heisenberg’s infamous “Blue Sky” product,” appeared to be emulating blue methamphetamine that the character Walter White produced on the show Breaking Bad.
Oh please. Do you know how many candy cigarettes I smoked as a kid? I went through a pack and a half a day and I turned out alright. And guess what? I don’t smoke cigarettes as an adult (unless I’m drunk but those don’t count). I was obsessed with candy cigarettes. I felt like the coolest kid in the world but then I tried real cigarettes and they made me feel weird and gross so I didn’t stick with it. Same thing for chewing tobacco. I used to pile Tootsie Rolls into my cheek and pretend that it was dip. I’d spit out the brown saliva onto the ground like a badass. It was a raucous good time. But then I tried actual chewing tobacco when I got older, got the spins, threw up everywhere and never tried it again.
The point is just because you smoke candy cigarettes doesn’t mean you’re gonna be a smoker. Just because you eat candy meth as a kid doesn’t mean you’re gonna end up being a meth head when you group up. Chances are that won’t happen. People need to calm the hell down. If anything, kids might try meth once as an adult, hate it and never do it again. That’s not so bad. You gotta try everything once to see if you like it or not. Meth is no different. Faux ‘Breaking Bad’ meth candy isn’t gonna sway people in one direction or the other. Relax.
