[Arizona Daily Star] - Lee, 20, is facing misdemeanor charges of failing to yield at an intersection, DUI as a minor and super extreme DUI involving a blood alcohol content of 0.20 or higher, according to Pima County justice court records. He was pulled over at 1:22 a.m. Sunday morning and tested for a blood-alcohol level of .215, police said.

I’ll be honest I had no idea there was such a thing as a super extreme DUI. It sounds like it should be more than a misdemeanor, but apparently that’s what Ira Lee is dealing with now. I have no idea how you are either a) awake or b) able to walk straight enough to get into your car and drive with a .215 BAC, but Lee accomplished that.

Arizona is currently reviewing everything and deciding any team discipline for Lee. I’d guess he’ll face a suspension of a couple of games, which is important because Lee was expected to be in the rotation for the upcoming year. He played limited minutes last year backing up Deandre Ayton and Dusan Ristic where he averaged just over 2 points and 2 rebounds per game in 10 minutes.

This year he’ll share time with Chase Jeter, Ryan Luther and Emmanuel Akot. It goes without saying that Ira Lee and anyone who has a BAC of .215 needs to follow Donnie’s advice:
