Stephen Jackson Had The Perfect Response When A Reporter Asked Him If Kobe Could Handle The Physicality Of The Big3 League

Perfect. Absolutely perfect. The only thing that could’ve made Stephen Jackson’s response better is if he poured baby powder in his hand and actually slapped the reporter. I mean, I understand the importance of getting a good sound bite (clearly he does too considering we’re talking about it) but what a wildly idiotic question to ask. Could Kobe Bryant handle the physicality of the Big3? Could one of the greatest scorers of ALL TIME handle the occasional hand check from the likes of Drew Gooden, Qyntel Woods, and Ryan Gomes? The man walked off the court under his own power after snapping his Achilles. He swung at SHAQ during a PRACTICE. He’s fought dozens of NBA players, most of them for no reason whatsoever. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it would be a change of pace, but Kobe would do just fine.

We talked about which current players would do well in the Big3 during this morning’s Barstool Breakfast and my answer was most all of them. Any current NBA player would absolutely dominate any retired player. Willie tried to say that LeBron wouldn’t be used to the non-calls but that doesn’t matter because none of the players would be used to LeBron. All he would have to do is lower a shoulder once and no one would get in his way the rest of the game. And that’s no shade to the Big3 guys. There were a few guys in my men’s league who played D-league and it was fucking impossible to guard them so I have somewhat of an understanding of the skill level it takes to get to that level but still. It’s impressive what the guys in the Big3 are doing but let’s not get crazy about it. Props to SJ.
