Source - Austria has rejected the asylum application of an Afghan claiming to be gay because he did not ‘act’ or ‘dress’ like a homosexual, according to a media report.

An official in Lower Austria state found no grounds for fear of persecution based on the sexual orientation of the 18-year-old, the Falter weekly newspaper reported.

Homosexuality is illegal in Afghanistan’s conservative, highly gender-segregated society.

I never thought I’d be able to relate to an eighteen-year-old gay Afghani yet here we are. It’s not easy dressing a six-foot-five-inch 180lbs frame in New York City; I can’t imagine how difficult it would be in Afghanistan. Despite what you may think, the downtown area isn’t exactly bustling.

Ghost town in Afghanistan

Which could be the reason why this little queen chooses to dress like a slob. That or he’s like me and works in an office full of straight dudes and has no one to impress although that seems unlikely. Regardless, his attire is only one of the reasons why he was denied asylum. He’s also aggressive (a top), anti-social (DL), and hides it well (masc.)

‘The way you walk, act or dress does not show even in the slightest that you could be homosexual,’ the official reportedly wrote in his assessment rejecting the claim.

The official also found ‘potential for aggression’ which ‘wouldn’t be expected from a homosexual’, because the man fought with others in the charity accommodation that houses them.

The Afghan reportedly had few friends and liked spending time alone or in small groups, leading the official to question in his report: ‘Aren’t homosexuals rather social?’

If he was smart he’d go home and turn his kurta into a mini skirt and try again but that ship has sailed. Only the gayest of gays are allowed in Austria and he doesn’t fit the bill. If I were him I’d embrace it and move on. There are plenty of people who will be into your style, buddy. They just won’t be in Austria.
