Finally: You Can Drive Your Car From A Platform Above The Windshield

Have you ever been cruising along in your car on a beautiful day & thought, “Man, if only I could be about 8 feet above the windshield on a system of pipes.” Well you can stop dreaming as it looks like that has finally become a reality. You & two friends can now enjoy the road in the best way possible; looking down on others while basking in fresh air, and then suddenly being lurched forward head-first toward the pavement.

There’s even a radio held on by zip ties so you & the bros can still hear NPR.

Strange as it seems, maybe these guys are on to something. I once paid a good amount of money to go on all the rides at the top of the Stratosphere in Vegas & my favorite was the one that just tipped you over the edge for a second. Can’t explain it but it’s pretty exciting stuff after 3 enormous, slushy Pina Coladas in an oversized plastic guitar.

Overall, the ‘Wipkar Project’ is pretty cool. Mechanical tinkerer ‘Master Milo‘ from the Netherlands has used his inventions to help inspire the younger generation to get their hands dirty & learn the trade. According to his site, he got started when his group of friends “got bored of dirt track and speedway racing. They decided there were more fun things they could do with their knowledge and their resources”. Most of the cars he experiments on are donated by friends & followers of his YouTube page who want to see something fun done with their old junkers.
