Greg Jennings Putting The Team On His Back Takes Us Into Madden Weekend

Today is Madden Day, which means this weekend is Madden Weekend. A time when gamers around the world lock themselves in their rooms, start up their franchises, sort the free agents list by speed, and begin their annual journey on the virtual gridiron. So rewatching the greatest display of heart, desire, and running up the score with absolutely perfect commentary only seemed right. If I ever watch this video and don’t laugh, I will know that my soul has escaped my body and I am dead. Especially when Darrennnnnn Sharperrrrrr one of the hardest hitting safeties in the league enters the screen. A true classic and a first ballot Internet Hall of Fame video.

Madden usually comes out later in August once we have all adjusted to having football back in our lives. But the good people at EA deciding to release it right after we mainlined last night’s preseason slate is almost too much. Almost. I will never, ever complain about a bukakke of football raining down upon my head with the return of real football and video game football in 24 hours.

As is tradition, we’ve already had a couple of glitches for the new game hit the interwebs.

I’m sure there will be a shit ton more now that everyone has a copy of the game. Once I get mine, I will try to figure out a way to stream some Madden at the Casa de Clem on the the Gametime YouTube channel. Maybe it will be a franchise, maybe it will be matches vs. Stoolies, maybe it will be a Madden Ultimate Team that I promised myself I would never play because I was already washed up once they started getting big. I’m not sure. I’d also like to start another smaller, more active Madden league at Barstool HQ like the one we had last year. So make sure you subscribe on YouTube (in case we never get our Twitch back) and check out the YouTube Gaming app on iPhone or Android. It looks like our pal Smitty has righted the Gametime ship, even if its in a much smaller body of water.

And even though he committed multiple atrocities against the Giants and their fans, I will miss having this virtual stallion with his flawless mane patrolling the sidelines for me.
