Cosmopolitan- Kris Jenner stopped by James Corden’s The Late Late Show last night to participate in the ever-popular “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts” segment, where celebrities have to answer a question or eat something absolutely disgusting. The participant gets to ask James q’s too, and Kris wanted to know why he’s never done “Carpool Karaoke” with Kanye West. We’ve tried! He canceled twice! Maybe even three times,” James said. And because it wouldn’t be Kanye without doing something absolutely ridiculous, this is what James said happened. “He canceled once as I was turning the corner to his house. I was in a car, and by the time the call finished, I was sat outside his house and they were like, ‘He’s not in the zone for it right now. We’ll do it another time,'” James said, which is pretty much the most Kanye thing imaginable.

“People were like, ‘Woah, they’re so expensive,’” Corden said. “And I was like, ‘Yeah! They cost my show $45,000! But, we love him, he’s my dream! He knows that. He’s my absolute dream and we sit and wait … That’s exactly why.”

I can already hear people ripping Kanye West apart for this. They’ll be like, “Oh there he goes again. Mr. Asshole doing Mr. Asshole Things again” and to that I say GOOD! Good for Mr. Asshole. The people who are mad about this need to grow up. Oh you want Kanye Fucking West to make every appearance? GTFO. This is on brand for Kanye West. I don’t wanna live in a world where Kanye West shows up on time and on the first try for things. That’s not how I like my geniuses. I like them erratic. I like them batshit crazy. I like them exactly like Kanye West. In fact, I wish Kanye had cost ‘The Late Late Show’ 45 million dollars. Kanye skipping cause, “He’s not in the zone for it right now” is as Kanye as it gets which is why he can get away with doing it.

I’d honestly be willing to bet James Corden feels the same way. Yeah he and his show took a $45,000 loss cause of this but whatever. A story about how Kanye cancelled on them 3+ times before actually getting him to do Carpool Karaoke is wayyyyyyyyyyyy more interesting than a story about how Kanye promptly showed up when he was supposed to and happily did Carpool Karaoke. Flaking builds hype and Kanye knows that. So now when he inevitably does Carpool Karaoke people will be all like, “OH MY GOD THEY FINALLY GOT KANYE ON CARPOOL KARAOKE!” and pissing in their pants, including James Corden. Kanye didn’t become the biggest star on the planet by accident folks.
