Hollywood Reporter- Chris Rock has just booked his first TV series regular job in nearly a decade. The comedian, former Oscar host and actor has signed on to star in the officially greenlit fourth season of Noah Hawley’s FX anthology Fargo. The role marks his first full-time TV gig since UPN’s Everybody Hates Chris. The role marks Rock’s return to FX, who previously exec produced talk show Totally Biased With W. Kamau Bell.  “I’m a fan of Fargo and I can’t wait to work with Noah,” Rock said. Season four will tell a story of immigration and assimilation, and the things people do for money. In typical Fargo fashion, it’s a story of decent people who are probably in over their heads. Production on season four will begin in 2019. A return date has not yet been determined.

Rock will play the head of one family, a man who in order to prosper has surrendered his oldest boy to his enemy and who must in turn raise his son’s enemy as his own. It’s an uneasy peace, but profitable. And then the head of the Kansas City mafia goes into the hospital for routine surgery and dies. And everything changes.

Helllllllllll yes. Hell. Yes. Great news on a rainy Friday afternoon. Chris Rock has signed on to be one of the stars of season 4 of Fargo. Let’s. Fucking. Go. The best thing about this news is that it means Fargo is still alive and well. I honestly hope Fargo goes on for 77 seasons. It’s one of the best shows running that not nearly enough people talk about. They just churn out good seasons of TV over and over and over again. They grab different famous people like Billy Bob Thornton, Colin Hanks, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Ewan McGregor and Ted Danson and keep on rolling along. Chris Rock is just the latest in a long line of famous people who saw how awesome the show was and wanted to be a part of it.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, season 1 of Fargo was better than season 1 of True Detective and I’ll die on that hill. I will willingly and gladly perish on that hill cause i’m right. And then obviously season 2 of Fargo was better than season 2 of True Detective but that pile of dog shit you passed on the street this morning is better than season 2 of True Detective. Bottom line is I’m super fucking excited for Chris Rock to be in Fargo and, if you haven’t watched the first three seasons then that’s what you need to do this weekend.
