I'm More Impressed With Zion Williamson's Dunks After Seeing He'd Be The Second Heaviest Dude In the NBA
Zion Williamson is one of the most known incoming college players in recent memory. It doesn’t necessarily have much to do with his talent or anything like that but because he’s one of the first Internet dudes to make it. When you think of mixtapes and everything like that you remember some names of old and someone like Seventh Woods. It was either prior to social media really blowing up or Woods, who has been a rotational player for UNC.
But, now we have Zion. More importantly we see what Zion was listed on his Duke bio. 285 pounds. Two. Hundred. Eighty. Five. Pounds.
That’s absurd. That puts him just 5 pounds behind this guy, who Joel Embiid was even shocked by:
The one slight difference between Boban and Zion is Boban is damn near 8 inches taller than Zion. Which makes me start to think that I’m even more impressed by Zion now. I mean, don’t get me wrong, some of his dunks blew the Internet away and rightfully so. But the fact that he’s getting this much weight off the ground? Yeah, I’m even more impressed. Zion is an absolute freak. Look at some of these now knowing he’s 285.
Sure, there are still question about how he’ll translate to the collegiate level and Duke’s roster fit. I’ve talked about that before and how I do question if K will get away from using the traditional big to run more of a small lineup at times. Sure, there are questions if Zion can create for himself at the next level and even more importantly develop a consistent jumper. But, that’s not the story here. The story here is 285 pounds.
Just an absolute unit and I’m in complete awe of the lad.
