Lil Wayne Cancelled His Appearance At An NYC Music Festival Cause He Simply Didn't Want To Do It

HNHH- After he was booked to replace Cardi B at Panorama Festival in New York, Lil Wayne was a no-show due to weather concerns. The storm was a legit issue too as others were forced to cancel their sets. The Migos, Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, and more were all victims of the weather, canceling their shows at the festival as a result. However, recent reports are saying that Lil Wayne’s non-appearance may not have actually been because of the weather. You’ll recall a similar incident at Rolling Loud Miami in May as Weezy was set to headline one of the secondary stages before dropping out of the show at the last minute, citing an unexpected illness. According to Page Six though, this time around is simply because he just “didn’t want to do it.” Writing that their source is a “music insider,” the publication was reportedly informed that talks were “going on for days, like three days. He just did not want to do the festival.”  

I was ready to heap praise all over Lil Wayne for this move. Yeah it’s fucked up for him to cancel on an appearance cause people paid hard earned money to see him perform but have you ever just felt like not doing something? Pretty sure that’s something we can all relate to. I always commit to stuff in the moment that I end up flaking on. I don’t like that part of myself but I know it’s there. There are times when Present You writes a check that Future You then has the responsibility of cashing and it’s a real burden. Not to mention cancelling feels sooooooooooooo good. It’s better than drugs. I respected the balls on Lil Wayne to just be like, “I did commit to doing that festival but now I don’t wanna do that festival so I’m not gonna.”

But then I saw that Weezy tweeted this

Weaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak. Blaming it on Mother Nature when he really just didn’t wanna go makes it way less cool. If Lil Wayne is the rockstar he claims to be he would’ve cancelled his appearance with a tweet that said, “I’m not coming cause I don’t wanna” That I would respect but to use Mother Nature like she’s some kind of excuse whore? Shame on Lil Wayne.

Another source has come forward in telling the website that Lil Wayne simply hates New York after spending time at Rikers back in 2009.
