Wake Up With The Nolan Ryan Taking A Bo Jackson Bouncer Off Of His Face
I don’t think that I ever saw this play, this is all new to me. I have seen the bloody face picture above, but thought it was from the Robin Ventura fight. Guess I was wrong. What a badass picture too, this needs to be one of our Boys Of Summer shirts.
Bo Jackson hit a bouncer right back at Nolan Ryan and Ryan did not field it correctly. In fact, he fielded it so damn incorrect. Bo bounced one straight off the lips and face of Ryan. Ryan picks up the ball, chucks to first, and just wanted to go about his day, thats how tough he was. Blood on his face, running down his lip onto his chin, all over his uni, looking like an absolute madman.
Hockey player would miss a week, maybe 2. Ryan stayed in the game for another 17 outs. They just don’t make them like Nolan Ryan anymore. A guy who wanted to pitch until his arm fell off. Old as dirt too, but such a badass. Crazy to think he made his debut in 1966 and retired in 1993.

But seriously, taking a bouncer from Bo Jackson right off your face could not feel good. Ryan knocked it down with his face, made the play, and was probably pissed off that the trainers had to come out. Blood on his uni and all, he just wanted to get back on that mound and K the next guy. Long live Nolan.
