Ryan Reynolds Is Making "Stoned Alone" - A Stoner Remake Of "Home Alone"
Hollywood Reporter - After missing the plane for his holiday ski trip, a man gets high and becomes paranoid that people are breaking into his house.
Ryan Reynolds in on board to produce stoner comedy Stoned Alone that is in the works at Fox.
The actor, who just released Deadpool 2 with the studio, will produce the comedy about a 20-something stoner who, after missing the plane for his holiday ski trip, gets high and becomes paranoid that people are breaking into his house. While high, he tries to thwart the thieves who have actually, really broken into his house. The would-be R-rated comedy is a riff on the 1990 classic Home Alone.

I love Hollywood. You hear stories about how some movies take years and years and years to get into production. Re-writes, director changes, scripts put on the backburner, studios changing their minds, and on and on and on. And then you hear about Ryan Reynolds deciding to make a Home Alone stoner comedy called “Stoned Alone” and it’s pushed to the front of the line. I love it. It’s akin to Pup Punk selling out Irving Plaza. Bands grind their whole lives to try to play venues like that, and then a mock band of bloggers leapfrogged over them to play it.
The movie itself sounds great though. There’s a reason indie filmmakers have to grind to get a movie up on a screen and Reynolds can make Stoned Alone. Because he puts asses in seats. When you have the resume he has, you don’t wait in line. You are the line.
Maybe this will be Ryan Reynolds new thing, taking 90’s movies and adulting them up with drugs and alcohol. The Sandpot. Little Big Weed. Wookie of the Year. Angel Dust In The Outfield. Mighty Cucks.
